Last night, The Recording Academy honored hip-hop legends Dr. Dre, Missy Elliott, Lil Wayne, and Sylvia Rhone at the Black Music Collective event at the Hollywood Palladium in LA. VIP attendees included Chloe Bailey, DJ Khaled, Ciara, 2 Chainz, Ty Dolla $ign, Lucky Daye, Swizz Beatz, Lil’ Kim, Tyga, and more. Throughout the event, guests were spotted toasting with Grey Goose cocktails, including the GRAMMYs signature Passion Drop cocktail, and celebrated the impactful careers of some of hip hop’s most influential artists.
Items from the event include:
- Chloe Bailey, Snoop Dogg, Ciara, Ty Dolla $ign, Tyga, and more performed tributes to honorees Dr. Dre, Missy Elliott, and Lil Wayne.
- Nicki Minaj, Drake, and DJ Khaled presented Lil’ Wayne with the Global Impact Award
- CEO of The Recording Academy, Harvey Mason Jr. presented Dr. Dre with the Global Impact Award and called him “One of The Founding Fathers of Modern Music.”
