(October 30, 2020) — Grammy winning artist and Grand Ole Opry member, Jeannie Seely, was honored with the Love From Music City Bill Anderson Icon Award on Oct 29th at the Grand Inheritance in Gallatin, TN. The gala serves as a fundraiser to bring businesses and people of the community together to help reach those in our local community and bring hope to those suffering abroad. It is committed to providing for the physical, emotional and educational needs for children, Foster Kids, poverty-stricken families, and Veterans in need. Jeannie Seely has been a long standing advocate of charitable organizations. She is considered a forerunner in opening doors and bringing country music to wider audiences around the world. Through a special invitation from the White House she was named a Goodwill Ambassador at the annual United Nations Concert. Jeannie was first recipient of the Standing Ovation Award, which is now called the Jeannie Seely Standing Ovation Award recognizes a woman who has created influence and significance in the entertainment industry and has shown the advocacy of other women in her field by mentoring and supporting them in their professional success. She generously shares her time, advocating for her community and various organizations. She has also served on the Board of Directors for both the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists, the Donelson-Hermitage Chamber of Commerce and as a longtime spokesperson for the Humane Society. She is also actively involved in the Opry Trust Fund which provides financial assistance to those in need in the country music industry.
Performances at this year’s event included John Berry, Steve Dorff and Marlon Hargis and Sonny LeMaire of Exile and touching virtual performances by Johnny Lee and Mickey Gilley as well as special video congratulations by Heidi Newfield and Rhonda Vincent.

Love From Music City is a Non-Profit, 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to “Loving the Orphan, Caring for the Lame, and Feeding the Hungry!” Fundraising efforts benefit Middle Tennessee Foster Children, Local Veterans, and Orphans in Haiti. About Jeannie Seely:
Country music legend Jeannie Seely has achieved chart topping songs as a solo artist, as a duet partner, and as a songwriter. Early in her career, Jeannie’s deeply moving vocals earned her the nickname of “Miss Country Soul,” a title that’s still used today. Jeannie’s biggest dream came true when she was inducted as a member of the world-famous Grand Ole Opry, becoming the first Pennsylvania native to do so. Jeannie takes much pride in her involvement and support of musicians’ rights. In 2017, Jeannie celebrated her 50th anniversary as a member of the Grand Ole Opry. From her 1966 Top 10 Billboard album The Seely Style to her recent self–produced album Written In Song, consisting entirely of songs she’s written, Jeannie’s recordings have spanned six decades and provided enjoyment to country music fans all around the world.
