Here’s Your Gay Desert Guide for the Weekend: Oct 14-16, 2022

Brad Fuhr Bella da Ball

Don’t Worry Darling has brought a resurgence to my Canyon View Estates neighborhood. The film, shot here during the height of COVID-19, stars Harry Styles, Chris Pine and Florence Pugh.

It features many classic autos, the kind you’ll find at the Casual Concours this weekend.  And it was shot one cul de sac away from where Sunday’s “Cul de Sac A Go-Go” is happening for Modernism Week – October.

Low and behold my 1963 MGB got its brush with greatness in the September issue of British Airways inflight magazine.  It is featured in a shot of CVE that beautifully encapsulates both machine and Modernism.Brad Fuhr CV Estates MG

The movie is just exiting our local theaters so if you haven’t had a chance to see it on the big screen, this may be the weekend to do so. But there’s much competition for your time with another weekend chocked full of events. P.S.  Thanks to my dad for lovingly restoring this car!

Oh and don’t forget to vote for John Taylor, DJ Galaxy and KGAY in the Best of Coachella Valley from the CV Independent. It IS your favorite radio station, right???

Enjoy this great weekend in #GreaterPalmSprings

Jeff Joiner at Crestline Funding is a small town guy who believes in being honest and developing long term relationships with his customers. It might be hard to swallow, but Eagle 501 has changed its name to Dick’s Bar. They’ve had Dicks on their minds for so long that they wanted to be surrounded by them. So, come to Arenas Road and let them put something tasty in your mouth. Same great staff with an atmosphere where pretentiousness and judgment are left behind, and the community can revel and play. Learn more
