JobSage recently surveyed 1,200 Americans in the workforce about their current jobs versus their dream jobs growing up.
So, what would Americans do for work if they could have their pick? Professionals ranked which industry they would want to work in, and entertainment came out on top.
Findings:
- Entertainment ranked the #2 dream industry, beaten only by technology.
- It’s not such an easy field to break into though. Only 3% of aspiring entertainment professionals surveyed made it into the industry.
- Only 2% of would-be writers actually became one.
- Across industries, the median “dream” salary is $120,000 — that’s more than double the current median salary of about $50,000.
