Palm Springs, CA (Special to The Hollywood Times) – She’s back from New York City to follow-up her run of 10 previous sold out shows in the Palm Springs area between 2021-2023. Award winning lesbian comic Mina Hartong (Olivia, Joe’s Pub, Flappers Comedy Club) returns to the Coachella Valley for two shows only during the month of March.

Mina Hartong will kick off her three-show swing through the Desert with her own show Lez Out Loud, which she produces, hosts and headlines on March 3rd at 7p.m. at The Roost Bar in Cathedral City.

It all starts with her own show Lez Out Loud Comedy, which she produces, hosts and headlines on March 3rd at 7p.m. at The Roost Lounge in Cathedral City.

She will complete her trifecta by hosting the L-Fund Gala Luck Be a Lady for the second year in a row. The Margaritaville resort will be hosting this premiere event of the season, March 9th at 5pm.

Mina has been performing and touring for over 20 years; Provincetown, Fire Island, Montreal Fringe Festival, and dozens of clubs in New York and LA. She was a finalist in the National Ladies of Laughter Contest and Curve Magazine called her one of America’s Funniest Lesbians alongside lesbian icons such as Suzanne Westenhoffer, Marga Gomez and Karen Williams.

Mina Hartong will be hosting the premiere lesbian event of the season, the L-Fund Gala Luck Be a Lady for the second year in a row at The Margaritaville Resort March 9th at 5pm.

She started her comedy career by accident after going to an open mike in Amsterdam and cracking jokes about locking her bike in the rain. She didn’t know it was a contest and ended up winning! That became her first solo show Wet, Dykey and American. She then went on to write and perform three more shows at Queer Pride all over Europe and Sydney, Australia. She will be debuting for Olivia this May in Cancun.

In the summer of 2020, Mina and her wife relocated to Palm Springs to escape New York City during the pandemic. A short year later, she started her own show Lez Out Loud which successfully sold out 10 times.  Beyond her comedy shows she has created a comedy class series for beginners available through the LGBTQ Center of the Desert.

Mina continues to teach live as well as online and taught Theater in public schools for 20 years. Her current work includes consulting for the New York City Board of Education, private coaching for new comics, classes in comedy and storytelling for various populations, which includes programs for the incarcerated in the New York area.

She has returned to New York, but her Desert roots run strong. She is committed to return at least once a year to share new material and bring favorite featured comedians such as Renee Santos back to the Lez Out Loud stage.

Here is what some fans are saying about Mina’s work.

”I just wanted to congratulate you on your show last night. I loved watching you fill up on the energy from the audience and just run with it. The new material was incredibly funny and your delivery…! I am so glad we were there. “

“Mina is laugh out loud funny.  Biting and sharp, but with warmth and humanity.  Nothing better. She can so easily slay all of us with her hysterical observations of life’s craziest moments.  She brings everyone in.”

Michael Ross, Managing Director, Center Stage Baltimore

In her spare time, Mina lives to travel, and dreams of retirement when she can focus on comedy and won’t need three-day jobs.
