The Countdown Begins: Health Equity Walk This Saturday

The DAP Health Equity Walk is just a few days away! We’re so excited to have you join us on Saturday, October 26 at Ruth Hardy Park in Palm Springs.

Whether you’re joining us at the starting line or simply enjoying the festivities, there’s something for everyone – even our furry friends.

The festivities begin at 7:30 a.m. with DJ Modgirl spinning tracks and NBC News Anchors Olivia Sandusky and Mark Mester leading the morning program.

Join us bright and early for pre-Walk activities starting at 7:30 a.m. Everyone is welcome to join!

Here’s what you can expect:

Walk for a Cause: Join thousands of others in walking to support health equity and access to care for all. We will be accepting sign-ups day-of at the registration booth, where you can also purchase the official 2024 Health Equity Walk T-shirt, cooling towels, tickets for the dunk, and more.

Explore the Health & Wellness Village: Discover 40+ community booths offering resources, information, and fun activities. The DAP Health Community Health team will be offering free services, and you won’t want to miss the Doggie Kissing Booth.

Enjoy Live Music and Entertainment: Dance to the beats of wonderful DJ Modgirl and enjoy performances by the Palm Springs Gay Men’s Chorus and Nickerson-Rossi Dance Academy.

Participate in Family-Friendly Activities: Bring the kids for games and other engaging activities.

Enter Your Furry Best Friend Into the Doggie Costume Contest: Dress up your pooch for a chance to win prizes.

Indulge in Delicious Food: Food trucks will be on site to satisfy your hunger.

Program Highlights:

7:30 a.m. – Registration opens

7:45 a.m. – Morning yoga with Kristin Olson and the Urban Yoga Warriors

8:35 a.m. – Pre-Walk warmup with Ted Guice, Michael Koth, and the G Force Team

8:45 a.m. – Walk kickoff

10:15 a.m. – Walkers return

10:25 – 10:40 a.m. – Nickerson-Rossi Dance Academy and Palm Springs Gay Men’s Chorus performances

10:40 a.m. – Doggie Fashion Show hosted by Dee Calmett

11:00 a.m. – Make-a-Splash Dunk Tank Challenge begins

All activities at the Health & Wellness Village sponsored by Walgreens will start at 7:30 a.m. and end at 1:00 p.m.
