It’s that time of year! The Bob Moog Foundation is headed to the NAMM (National Association of Music Merchants) Convention, which will take place in the Anaheim Convention Center from January 25th through January 28th. If you are attending NAMM, you can find the Bob Moog Foundation at booth 10707, surrounded by many of our industry friends.
As a longtime music industry journalist covering NAMM for several decades, I had the pleasure of meeting Bob Moog at NAMM. The opportunities to meet and interact with many layers of the music industry at NAMM is the priceless aspect of this annual trade show for the National Association of Music Merchants.
The BOB MOOG FOUNDATION is excited to announce that they will be honoring legendary synthesist Patrick Moraz (Mainhorse, Refugee, Yes, Moody Blues) throughout the NAMM Show. MOOG will be sharing their Story of Moraz: The Life of a Musical Genius exhibit, which traces over five decades of his extraordinary career through photos from his archive as well as an extensive personal narrative.
Patrick’s Minimoog, which he used on Yes’ 1974 Relayer album, and his Minimoog Voyager, which he purchased directly from Bob Moog, will be part of the exhibit and available for attendees to play. Both synthesizers are on loan to the exhibit from collector Lee Keeley.
Patrick will be present at the Bob Moog Foundation booth every day from 1-3 pm. Please come by and meet him in person!
Finally, the Bob Moog Foundation executive director, Michelle Moog-Koussa will be interviewing Patrick at 4 pm on Friday, January 26th as part of the TEC Tracks Sessions that take place at NAMM, in room 204B of the convention center. This event will also be live streamed through the NAMM+ App. You can see the listing for it here: https://bit.ly/MorazInterviewNAMM2024.
