This story has been a long time coming.  First as a local story in South East Michigan until “Inside Evil” with Chris Cuomo came and did an episode on Nicole Beverly’s case (Til Death Do Us Part) as well as appearances on NPR and a slew of other news outlets.

Finally on May 1st the Historic Laemmle 5 will welcome the cast, crew, media and celebrity guests for a night to remember as the red carpet is rolled out.

Rewind to 2019 and to Nicole and Harley Wallen who directs and produces the film met because of their mutual connection Bill Dobreff (Wallen’s Lawyer) without knowing that Wallen actually grew up in a household with domestic violence and the fact that Wallen as so many others didn’t bring attention to it because of stigma and the family discomfort but when Nicole’s story hit, it hit Wallen right in the heart and now he feels it is time to take a stand and speak out and speak up as domestic violence in not only  has been a steadily increasing epidemic.  “It’s one of the few things we can agree on across the spectrums, it hits us all” said Wallen.

The film follows Nicole and her story told almost in an reenactment version of the story combining the Law and Order part of things as well as the life and the difficulties of leaving and the risks involved in Nicole’s case and so many others.

For Wallen this isn’t just a “one and done” as he is in development of another story from Nicole’s non-profit focusing on Domestic Violence “The Enough Initiative” with a working title estimated for a July production. “I have been quiet and ashamed for too long and I want to have a voice on this matter” said Wallen

This heartfelt movie will soon have a Limited Theatrical alongside its platform and worldwide release soon to be announced.

The film was produced by Painted Creek Productions, Harley and Kaiti Wallen, Nicole Beverly, Joseph Williamson, Pierre Aristide, Shomari Giles, Blanca Blanco, Yan Birch, Marna Clowney-Robinson, Sergey Reznikov and others.
