A Conversation with Executive Producer Ethan S. Smith from a short film about OCD called “Waiving”

Opening night, at HollyShorts in Hollywood is on Thursday, August 8. Waving, a short film that takes viewers on a journey across the brutal realities of this often misunderstood mental health condition.

Waving is really the first film to show just how devastating OCD can be. Often portrayed as quirky or offbeat condition via loveable characters in popular shows and movies, such as Monk and As Good As It Gets, Waving captures the true inner experiences for the estimated 2.3% of the population who have OCD.

Obsessive Compulsive Disorder is an often misunderstood and debilitating condition. It can leave those who suffer from it, and those who live with them, feeling overwhelmed and alone.

WAVING is an attempt to portray the brutal realities of the condition whilst maintaining a sense of hope that help can be found when we talk about what hurts us.

Here is my interview with executive producer Ethan S. Smith who talks about this film and OCD. Enjoy.

If you have time to come to TCL Chinese Theatre this coming Thursday night, do it. This is a great film to watch to help you understand the true meaning of OCD.  Very powerful and excellent acting by Ralph Ineson.

Ralph Ineson plays the leading role. Ineson, a multi-award-winning, British-born, leading actor with two decades of key roles in films such as Harry Potter, Guardians of the Galaxy and The Green Knight.
