T. GRAHAM BROWN AND HALFWAY TO HAZARD TO HOST ‘APPALACHIA RISES: COME HELL OR HIGH WATER’ TELETHON MONDAY, AUGUST 29TH FROM PRESTONSBURG, KY

Telethon with live performances to air on WYMT-TV, WYMT.com and WKYT’s CW Lexington at 7pm ET

PRESTONSBURG, Ky. – Monday, August 29th marks one month after disastrous rains tore apart multiple counties in the Appalachian mountains of Eastern Kentucky, killing at least 39  and displacing hundreds more, leaving catastrophic destruction in its wake. ‘Appalachia Rises: Come Hell or High Water’ will help address the ongoing financial burden that has resulted from the widespread flooding. The live telethon airs Monday night at 7 pm ET on CBS affiliate WYMT-TV, WYMT.com, and 7-8 pm on WKYT’s CW Lexington and will be hosted by T. Graham Brown and Halfway to Hazard, featuring live performances from the hosts, Tyler Booth, and Taylor Austin Dye. Other artists such as Trace AdkinsDillon CarmichaelLee GreenwoodTracy Lawrence, Kentucky favorites John Michael Montgomery, Walker MontgomeryJD Shelburne, and Wynonna, have committed support to the live broadcast event.

The Mountain Arts Center in Prestonsburg, Ky. will host the telethon. A limited number of $15 tickets go on sale Friday, August 26th at 12 pm ET at macarts.com, with all proceeds benefitting the flood relief efforts. Monetary donations will also be requested upon entry and all proceeds of the event will benefit The Foundation for Appalachian Kentucky. In addition to the telethon, Brown enlisted the support of the Kentucky State Fair to sell the “Come Hell Or High Water Kentucky Strong” t-shirts at the Texas Roadhouse Concerts Series shows, continuing through Sunday, August 28th. T-shirts are $25 and are available in the artist merchandise area with proceeds being provided directly to Kentuckians.

T. Graham has taken the lyrics to his song “Hell and High Water” and helped create the “Come Hell Or High Water” t-shirt, which is an outline of the Kentucky Commonwealth punctuated by the words Kentucky Strong! In addition, T. Graham and his Hillbilly Iced Tea and Lemonade wrapped tour bus recently delivered much-needed supplies including water, flashlights, batteries, generators, tarps, coolers, baby supplies, cleaning supplies, hoses, and more that were donated by the Nashville community to those Kentuckians in need.
