Los Angeles, CA (The Hollywood Times) 2/23/22 – Apple TV+’s latest thriller series entitled Suspicion has been the subject of good reviews. This modern day Who Done It is based on the award-winning Israeli series False Flag. The series follows a group of British citizens played by; Aadesh Chopra (Kunal Nayyar), Natalie Thompson (Georgina Campbell), Tara McAllister (Elizabeth Henstridge), Sean Tilson (Elyse Gabel) and Eddie Walker (Tom Rhys Harries), as they are thrown into chaos and named as suspects in the abduction of a prominent American businesswoman’s (Uma Thurman) son (Gerran Howell).

Showrunner, executive producer, and writer Rob Williams gives viewers a proposition; “If you were torn from your normal life and questioned about a high-profile crime in another country, what would you do? How would you react? How would you look? “We were fascinated by the idea that as soon as somebody is accused of something — and it is easier now than ever before to be accused of something given the role of the internet and social media — just how difficult it is to disprove?”

During the Apple TV+ Virtual Press Day THT we had the opportunity to interview BAFTA Award winning actress Georgina Campbell, who plays the role of one of the prime suspects financial manager Natalie Thompson.

VM: You play the role of Natalie (The Newly Wed) what commonalties do you and the character share?

GC: She’s a London girl, which I kind of relate to, I live in London. She’s really family oriented, she wants to help her Mum and I feel the same about my Mum. She also has a lovely relationship with her sisters, as do I. I love my sisters very much and would do anything for them. The journey that she goes on with her sister Monique is absolutely heartbreaking, putting myself in that position, God knows what I would do. She was quite easy for me to tap into, apart from me being a criminal. ***(Laughs)

VM: What does Natalie add to the shows plot?

GC: Natalie adds a lot of heart to the plot. She really through everything that happened, the series of events kind of destroy her life in a very visceral way. She starts off very safe and loving and ends up somewhere different, which is kind of what happens with most of the characters. They all kind of mesh together and you see different sides of humanity through all of them.

VM: In one of the episodes Natalie gets questioned on her wedding day, but investigators find no connection between her and the kidnapping, without giving too much away what else can we expect to unfold?

GC: Well, that’s exactly it the kidnapping is the big question. Who did it and why? We are also finding out more about Katherine Newman (Uma Thurman), what’s she got to hide? Why was Leo kidnapped? The series follows these five suspects that are fighting for their innocence, but are they innocent? These questions will be answered as the show progresses.

VM: What was it like working with such a well-rounded cast?

GC: It was a dream. Everyone was so amazing and talented! I’ve never felt more in sync with a group of casts members.

VM: Any restrictions during COVID-19?

GC: It was exciting getting back to work. Of course, we had new protocols, but it was all done very efficiently and safely. It was all very strange, but we all dealt with it.
