City of Atlanta Proclaims November 11th as “REVOLT Day” at REVOLT Summit x AT&T

Day two of the Summit made big moves as the city of Atlanta named November 11th as “REVOLT Day” and awarded REVOLT CEO Detavio Samuels with an official proclamation.

One of the highlights of the evening was the Be Heard Finale, where the top five audition HBCU contestants stepped onto the stage and flexed their talents. Hosts Druski and Rapsody crowned 18-year-old Nia Thompson of Desoto, Texas as the winner. The Freshman at Clark Atlanta College was awarded $10,000 and surprised onstage with an additional $10,000 from Sharod Simpson, owner of the Summit’s venue, 787 Windsor.

Attendees tuned into a live taping of REVOLT’s Assets Over Liabilities led by co-hosts Rashad Bilal and Troy Millings where Chance the Rapper discussed financial literacy and his views on music labels. The jam-packed day additionally featured an exclusive conversation with RO$$ MAC, Waka Flocka Flame, Derek Ferguson and Ian Dunlap who discussed generating wealth through cryptocurrency and a live BIG Facts conversation with Rick Ross, Big Bank, DJ Scream, and Baby Jade.

Day two of the Summit ended with a live performances from Yung Bleu, Rubi Rose and Nyla Symone who received standing ovations from the crowd.

  • Moguls In The Making By Ally Bank: Led by Gia Peppers, Natalie J. Brown, and Terrence J., this year’s winning team will come together to share how they embraced Ally’s principles of community, collaboration and customer commitment to forge their path forward as they also present what’s next for their burgeoning enterprise.
  • The Power of the Black Dollar: Featuring The Breakfast Club’s DJ Envy and a few money savvy entrepreneurs like Melissa Butler, Jayda Chaves and Lecrae who vividly broke down how to recycle your Black dollars and keep them in our communities significantly longer.
  • Get Your Shine On: Slim Thug chatted with Black jewelers and grill designers like Slim Thug, Grillz by Scotty, Slick Rick, Zee Da Jeweler and Goldz by Helen on why more people should invest in the jewelry space.
  • Owning Our Narrative: Featured an insightful conversation with REVOLT CEO Detavio Samuels, Joey Bada$$ and Cari Champion on what it takes to own the story from ideation to ratings wins.
  • Mental Wins: Led by Allen Iverson and Taylor Rooks this high-stakes conversation focused on mental health and the pressure to be your truest self no matter the cost.
  • I’MA Do Me: Included today’s top creative artists like Lil Yachty, Van Lathan, Amine, Alonzo Arnold, Bigbankkeisha and Kimberly Scott that are unapologetically living their truth. The conversation explored how these artists tap into their inner-selves to advocate for their craft.
