LOVE ON THE RUN

Los Angeles, CA (The Hollywood Times) 8/12/21 – It would be stating the obvious that life for us all has not been easy over the past year, and we have certainly not felt much hope or motivation. But the event I attended on Sunday, July 25th was a well-needed burst of positivity and inspiration.

Organized by Eye of Love, purveyors of pheromone-infused fragrances, the event was part of ‘Love on the Run’ – a campaign created to support the non-profit movement To Write Love on Her Arms, an organization dedicated to offering hope, and finding help for those struggling with depression, addiction, self-injury, and suicide, and who invest in treatment and recovery services as well as offering encouragement and inspiration.

It makes perfect sense for this innovative brand, so focused on the advocating and spreading of love around the globe, to create a campaign to raise money for such a deserving cause.

The San Diego-based perfume company creates Vegan and cruelty-free fragrances in order to attract either sex, with an LGBTQ line and massage candles. Love being the motivator of the brand, the sultry scents are created to be worn over the individuals’ everyday perfume to add a pheromone boost, making them appear more attractive to other people. According to their website, studies have shown that pheromones can help others to see us as more open, attractive, charismatic, and easy to talk to – all of which was certainly the case at this haven of happiness created on Santa Monica Boulevard. A tropical backdrop, music, a balloon station, a bar serving a selection of delicious refreshments, and a pop-up studio for attendees all welcomed supporters.

“We’ve been collecting five-dollar donations which are basically a note of how you’re going to spread love,” explained Jacqui Rubinoff of Eye of Love, “Then we’re having artist Brendan North do fine art photography taking inspiration from all of these amazing love notes. Then we’re going to sell that and proceeds are also going to go To Write Love on Her Arms. We’re really excited about the campaign and we’re just here to spread love.”

Meanwhile, inside the CDC compliant on-site pop-up studio, photographer Jonathan Heit photographed attendees, who, after the event were sent their images to upload on social media using the hashtags #LOVEONTHERUN, #eyeoflove, and #twloha to post on Thursday, 8/5  at 9:00 AM PST to create viral awareness for the campaign, including an expression of how they themselves spread love.

“It was such an honor to work on the Love on The Run campaign. It was especially gratifying to watch people’s eyes light up when they saw a quick glimpse of their professional photographs,” said Heit. “Some people walked in unsure of how to pose or what to do in front of the camera, but in the end, everyone looked incredibly beautiful.”

In such bleak times, it is a refreshing and uplifting campaign that reminds us all how easy it can be just to embrace positivity, love, and reflect on the part we play in making the world an easier place for each other to exist in; especially for those of us who are struggling to.
