The Mixtape Capsule includes distinctly reimagined 80s classics: ‘Take On Me,’ & ‘Tainted Love,’ featuring emerging, womxn, POC, and LGBTQ+ artists as modern reflections in pop culture today.
LOS ANGELES AND NEW YORK, NY – SharpeHaus, (formerly known as Sharpe Suiting), in support of True Colors United, today announced that it will debut its first music video campaign, to promote diversity and inclusivity in mainstream culture, while working to raise awareness and activate communities to help end youth homelessness globally.
“LGBTIQ+ youth have a higher risk of homelessness than their non-LGBTQ peers. Homelessness is a global issue. Across the world, LGBTIQ+ youth are experiencing homelessness in many forms – be it living on the street, couch-surfing, or a variety of unsafe conditions. It’s a hidden issue that needs to be brought to the forefront of today’s conversations in a way people can understand,” said Twiggy Pucci Garçon, Chief Program Officer of True Colors United.
SharpeHaus’ Mixtape Capsule features three emerging artists who identify as womxn, POC, and/or LGBTQ+, covering iconic tracks from the 1980s (Take On Me, Tainted Love, and Time After Time) – a period of hope, imagination, and inspiration. The diverse vocal artist line-up includes Amanda Kruger who is non-binary, Reina Lam who is a Chinese-American woman and Grammy-nominated R&B artist Qing Jaila who is a Black trans woman.
