Moving to Sunday night this season, ABC’s season two premiere of “The Rookie” delivered triple-digit time period improvement over the L+SD average of “The Alec Baldwin Show” in the hour last season, soaring by 186% in Total Viewers (4.0 million vs. 1.4 million) and by 250% in Adults 18-49 (0.7/3 vs. 0.2/1). In fact, “The Rookie” marked ABC’s most-watched Fall premiere in the Sunday 10 o’clock hour in 4 years and highest-rated among Adults 18-49 in 3 years—since 9/27/15 and 9/25/16, respectively. “The Rookie” grew over its “Shark Tank” lead-in by 5% in Total Viewers and held 100% in Adults 18-49.
- ABC’s “The Rookie” was the only program on the major networks last season to post triple-digit delayed-viewing gains in Total Viewers, soaring by +101% from its L+SD to its L+7 average. In addition, “The Rookie” more than doubled its Adult 18-49 rating with growth of +114% last season from L+SD to L+7.
