The Italian tenor brought his celebrated Romanza anniversary tour to Los Angeles for an unforgettable night of opera, film music and powerhouse collaborations.
Hollywood, CA (The Hollywood Times) – September 17, 2026 – The Hollywood Bowl became an opera house, concert hall and cinematic stage as Andrea Bocelli took the stage Tuesday and Wednesday night, September 15th and 16th, for an unforgettable celebration of music. As part of his Romanza 30th Anniversary World Tour, Bocelli delivered a performance that moved effortlessly between classical opera, Broadway and some of his most recognizable songs of his career.
The evening opened with powerful operatic selections before expanding into a diverse set that included music from West Side Story and the legendary film composer Ennio Morricone. The transitions gave the concert a theatrical quality while showcasing the remarkable range of Bocelli’s musical career.
But the heart of the evening belonged to Romanza. Originally released in 1997, the album helped transform Bocelli into an international superstar and remains one of the defining works of his career. Thirty years later, hearing selections from the album performed live at the Hollywood Bowl gave the anniversary a particularly fitting backdrop.
The atmosphere became even more electric when Jennifer Hudson joined Bocelli onstage. The two performed “One Right Here,” written by Diane Warren, before coming together for the beloved classic “The Prayer.” With Diane Warren and David Foster also appearing, the collaboration became one of the night’s standout moments. Hudson’s powerful vocals paired beautifully with Bocelli’s unmistakable tenor, creating a performance that felt both grand and deeply emotional.
What makes Bocelli’s live performances so captivating is his ability to command a massive venue without relying on spectacle alone. Even with a full orchestra, choir, dancers and an impressive lineup of guests, the focus repeatedly returned to his voice.
Bocelli’s September 16 performance was a celebration of a career that has spent decades connecting opera with popular culture and bringing classical music to audiences around the world.
Thirty years after Romanza, Andrea Bocelli’s voice remains just as recognizable and powerful.
