Los Angeles, CA (The Hollywood Times) 7/16/2026 – Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN are preparing for a busy August with a diverse lineup of original series, blockbuster films, family programming, live sports, and music events. From highly anticipated premieres such as Camp Rock 3, Futurama Season 14, and Venom: The Last Dance to extensive coverage of the WNBA, WWE SummerSlam, PGA TOUR events, and the US Open, subscribers will have plenty to watch throughout the month.

August kicks off with a mix of classic films and live events. Hulu welcomes fan favorites including Jurassic Park, Men in Black, Sonic the Hedgehog, and She’s the Man, while Disney+ and Hulu continue their coverage of Lollapalooza from Chicago. Sports fans can tune in for WWE SummerSlam and several marquee WNBA matchups featuring some of the league’s biggest stars.

One of the month’s most anticipated returning series is Hulu’s Futurama, which launches its 14th season on August 3 with a two-episode premiere. The beloved animated comedy continues its adventures through the future with new stories, returning characters, and the humor that has made it a fan favorite for decades.

Disney+ also has a strong month for franchise fans. On August 5, viewers can stream Star Wars: Visions Presents, The Ninth Jedi, a longer-form continuation of one of the most celebrated stories from the Star Wars: Visions anthology. Marvel fans will be treated to new episodes of X-Men ’97 Season 2, while Wizards Beyond Waverly Place returns with its third season, continuing the adventures of the Russo family.

Music lovers and Disney Channel fans will have a major reason to celebrate on August 14 when Camp Rock 3 premieres on Disney+. The new film reunites Connect 3 with their beloved summer camp as they search for the next breakout musical talent. The project promises new songs, fresh rivalries, and the heartfelt themes that made the original films cultural favorites.

The month also features several notable original productions. National Geographic’s LION follows the extraordinary journey of a lion cub named Kio as he grows into a leader of his pride. Hulu debuts Travis Barker: Louder Than Fear, a documentary chronicling the musician’s remarkable life and recovery following a near-fatal plane crash. Reality television fans can also look forward to The Girls: A Khloé Kardashian Project, which explores the lives, businesses, and friendships within Khloé Kardashian’s inner circle.

Animation and family programming remain a cornerstone of Disney+’s August lineup. New episodes and premieres include Big City Greens Season 5, Pokémon: Indigo League, LEGO Disney Princess: Magical Mayhem, Disney Princess: The Ultimate Concert Celebration, Sofia the First: Royal Magic, and SuperKitties Season 3.

Sports coverage continues to dominate across ESPN and Disney platforms throughout the month. Viewers can watch PGA TOUR events including the Wyndham Championship, FedEx St. Jude Championship, BMW Championship, and TOUR Championship. Tennis fans will be treated to extensive US Open coverage beginning in late August, while Little League Baseball and Softball World Series action returns for another exciting year.

As August draws to a close, Disney+ adds Venom: The Last Dance, bringing Tom Hardy’s trilogy as Eddie Brock and Venom to its dramatic conclusion. The film joins an already impressive lineup of new releases, helping round out one of the streaming giant’s biggest months of the year.

With major franchise releases, beloved returning series, live sports, documentaries, family entertainment, and exclusive originals, Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN are offering subscribers one of their most expansive programming slates of 2026.
