A bi-costal publication that covers artists, fashion, and pop culture, GROOVEVOLT started with the music. “We truly love music,” Ryan Prescott, the Creative Director of GROOVEVOLT, shared, “We love everything: the artistry, the songwriter, the producer, the engineer.”

Chauncy Jackson, the Editor-in-Chief, founded GROOVEVOLT in 2000 with a powerful belief in the power of music. An entrepreneur who started his business while he was still in school, Jackson is songwriter who worked with Clive Davis, created his own label, who hosts events—he has done it all. GROOVEVOLT covers every kind of artist, from country to rock to rap to R&B and beyond.  “I think I always wanted to have a place where people could feel like they’re included,” he says. Jackson hand selects every artist, making sure they are passionate about their project, that they believe in the lyrics they’re singing and the stories that they’re telling.

Why a print magazine, and why now? Jackson explains, “My managing editor, a really close friend of mine, passed away. We always wanted to do a magazine. We wanted to do something in print. And I was like, I’m just gonna do it. And I did it.” Prescott values this direction, “There’s something special about holding a magazine and reading it from cover to cover, and touching the pages, and really digesting it.”

The GROOVEVOLT Summer 2026 features conversations, editorials, and exclusive moments with artists including Girlset, Durand Bernarr, Lauv, Matt Hanson, Corbyn Besson, BJRNCK, Dariel Amant and hits the newsstands in LA soon.
