Los Angeles, CA (The Hollywood Times) 05/13/26 –
The energy of Los Angeles was on full display Tuesday night as Rémy Martin hosted its “This Is My City” celebration at Level 8, bringing together creatives, tastemakers, dancers, artists, musicians, and entertainment industry leaders for an evening centered around the spirit and influence of LA culture.
The event marked the Los Angeles debut of the limited-edition Rémy Martin V.S.O.P “This Is My City” bottle, a release inspired by the city’s rhythm, ambition, and artistic energy. The bottle’s description captured the essence of Los Angeles through a poetic tribute to the city’s creative pulse:
“Where melodies rise with the sun and every street has its own rhythm. From private studios in the hills to late-night sets on the Sunset Strip, the city moves to its own beat – refined, fearless, and always evolving. The city where lights shine bright, but the stars shine brighter. A harmony of ambition and artistry. This Rémy Martin V.S.O.P is the window into the city I’m proud to call home.”
The evening reflected that vision perfectly. Guests filled the venue enjoying curated cocktails, elevated bites, live music, and immersive experiences inspired by the culture and creativity that continue to define Los Angeles as a global entertainment capital. From dancers and entrepreneurs to musicians and filmmakers, the crowd represented the many voices and backgrounds that shape the city’s ever-evolving identity.
One of the biggest moments of the evening was the celebration of Los Angeles micro-grant recipient Louis Murray, founder of Live Jazz LA. Murray was recognized for his work building community through live music experiences across Los Angeles, using jazz as a bridge between culture, connection, and storytelling. His platform has become known for creating intimate musical spaces that bring people together while spotlighting both emerging and established talent throughout the city.

Murray’s recognition is part of Rémy Martin’s larger “This Is My City” initiative, which has awarded micro-grants to influential creatives and community leaders in cities including Atlanta, Chicago, Miami, and Los Angeles. Through the program, Rémy Martin has invested directly into individuals whose work impacts local culture, artistry, entrepreneurship, and community engagement. Rather than simply hosting nightlife activations, the campaign has focused on uplifting creatives who actively shape the identity of their cities.
By expanding the program nationally, Rémy Martin has created a platform that highlights the unique artistic energy of each city while providing tangible support to local visionaries. Los Angeles served as the final stop of the campaign, closing out the series with a celebration deeply rooted in music, dance, entertainment, and cultural innovation.
The event also featured a special appearance by acclaimed choreographer and Queens N’ Lettos founder Aliya Janell, who reflected on the city’s influence on her creative journey and career. During a brief interview, Janell discussed how Los Angeles’ legendary hip hop and dance scenes continue to inspire performers and creatives from around the world.
“People come from everywhere and bring so much culture and experience to Los Angeles,” Janell shared, emphasizing how the city’s diversity fuels creativity across dance, music, fashion, and entertainment. She also spoke warmly about her longstanding relationship with Rémy Martin, describing the brand as “family” and acknowledging their support throughout her career.

As the night continued, the atmosphere reflected the essence of Los Angeles itself — bold, diverse, artistic, and constantly evolving. Between the music, cocktails, conversations, and celebration of local creatives, Rémy Martin successfully delivered more than a luxury brand event. It created a tribute to the people, culture, and ambition that continue to make Los Angeles one of the most influential creative cities in the world.
