1. Big Gay BBQ
The Big Gay BBQ brings smoky goodness to the Arenas District on Saturday–Sunday, April 25–26. The festivities run Saturday from 11 am–10 pm and Sunday from 11 am–7 pm. This block party features multiple BBQ and beverage vendors, live entertainment, and outdoor lounges. KGAY’s John Taylor will be Out and About from 1–4 pm at various locations on Arenas: Check Bear Wear, Blackbook, Hunters and Streetbar! Stop by the KGAY booth to scan our QR code and ENTER TO WIN TICKETS to Pussycat Dolls on June 5 at Acrisure Arena. Entry to the BBQ is free, too!

2. PSGMC: Rhinestones & Rainbows
The Palm Springs Gay Men’s Chorus performs Rhinestones & Rainbows from Friday–Sunday at the Palm Springs Plaza Theatre. Inspired by Dolly Parton, this high-energy celebration features country, pop, and LGBTQ+ anthems to create a triumphant finale. The production includes selections from Lady Gaga, Cher, and Taylor Swift with soulful harmonies and dazzling visuals.

3. Metropolitan Fashion Week
Metropolitan Fashion Week – “The Way You Look Tonight” transforms the Frank Sinatra Twin Palms Estate on Sunday, April 26 at 5 pm. This event features couture masterpieces by Douglas Tapia and Arturo Rios inspired by classic Hollywood romance. Live performances by Richard Shelton and Kendall Jo reimagining golden-era cinema will thrill the audience. DJ Galaxy will be shaping the musical energy and atmosphere throughout the night, and proceeds benefit The LGBTQ Community Center of the Desert.

The KGAY 103.1 Retro Lunch airs Monday through Friday from Noon–1 pm, with DJ Galaxy (Vincent Corrales) and DJ Eric Ornelas playing an hour of their high-energy throwback mixes. On Sundays, we put all five hours together for the Retro Sunday Brunch from 11 am–4 pm. Perfect party music! The KGAY Sunday Tea Dance with Modgirl airs every Sunday from 4–6 pm (right after the Retro Brunch). All our DJs took honors in the Best of Coachella Valley this year!
This Weekend: Modgirl kicks it off at SPECTACULAR on Friday at 8 pm at The Red Barn. On the flipside of the weekend, catch her at the BIG GAY BBQ on Sunday at 5 pm. DJ Galaxy also has a busy weekend, spinning at the Vista Grande Pool Party on Saturday from 12–3 pm and the BIG GAY BBQ on Saturday from 5–7 pm. He concludes at Metropolitan Fashion Week on Sunday evening.
