[New York, NY – March 19, 2026] – On Wednesday evening, The Paley Museum hosted their latest PaleyLive event A Night with Kerry Washington, Kate Mara, and Apple TV’s “Imperfect Women,” in celebration of the highly anticipated limited series. The program featured a red carpet event, screening, and conversation with members of the cast and creative team. The red carpet was attended by Kerry Washington (“Eleanor,” Executive Producer), Elisabeth Moss (“Mary,” Executive Producer), Kate Mara (“Nancy”), Corey Stoll (“Howard”), Annie Weisman (Executive Producer, Showrunner, Writer) and journalist Jessica Shaw who moderated the post-screening conversation.

An excited audience gathered at the Bennack Theater for an unforgettable evening celebrating bold storytelling and powerhouse performances with the stars of Apple TV’s newly released psychological thriller series “Imperfect Women.”

Elisabeth Moss and Kerry Washington

Stars and Executive Producers Moss and Washington and Executive Producer, Showrunner, Writer Weisman discussed their collaboration and partnership behind the scenes and in bringing to life the novel the show is based on. “In this cast, every single person was our first and only choice,” Moss shared, while Mara noted that, after reading the book, she “was so excited and flattered they thought of me for the role.” Weisman touted that “in addition to attracting amazing actors, we also attracted amazing directors,” many of whom are women. Stoll observed that in a set dominated by women in leadership positions, “there’s a collaborative nature” as well as “a sense of gratitude” and “mutual respect.”

Washington spoke highly of the friendship built between the women, sharing that “it’s our job to act, so we acted like best friends… and then we became obsessed with each other.” Washington noted the friendships they’d built over the course of the 8 episode shoot had become so strong that “the homework did itself.” Weisman spoke of the interdependent nature of the characters’ friendships, observing that “they only survive while really sticking together,” which prompted Mara to quip; “well not everyone survives.”

The conversation highlighted the complexity of female characters, with Washington joking that “the great thing with our show having three protagonists is that you can hate one and there are still two other girls on the poster.” Weisman appreciated getting “the chance to work with fascinating female characters” and “give each of them their due,” but acknowledged that “what’s equally interesting in this writers room was talking about male fragility.” Stoll agreed, sharing that he loved his character and found him to be “a complicated guy.”

On the show’s emotional storytelling, Moss emphasized how “every episode felt like it was peeling back another layer.” Weisman expressed that she wanted viewers to enjoy it and “change your mind in every episode,” she further asserted that “the more you are not sure how you feel about a person, the better.” As for the weekly release, Weisman enthusiastically said, “we are really excited we can roll it out week by week,” while Washington added for the audience, “but you do have two in week one, so you get to go home and watch one more” prompting cheers from the crowd.
