
The José Iturbi Foundation Sponsors “RACHMANINOFF UNDER THE STARS” With Stars of Stage & Screen at the Hollywood Bowl To Benefit Young Artists In The Making With Scholarships
The José Iturbi Foundation (JIF) was the proud sponsor of “Jose Iturbi Night” with the LA Philharmonic at the Hollywood Bowl.
Celebrated fans and supporters of The José Iturbi Foundation a 501(c)(3) Non-Profit) in attendance included Co-Founder and President, Donelle Dadigan, Ruta Lee (Seven Brides for Seven Brothers/Funny Face), Rex Smith (TV and Broadway star/ Recording Artist), Lee Purcell (2x Emmy nominated Actress), John & Dee Dee Schneider (Dukes of Hazzard/Emmy winner), Michael Feinstein (Grammy Nominated Ambassador of the Songbook of the 20TH Century), Carolyn Henessey (Emmy winner), Erin Murphy (Bewitched), Moosie Drier (Laugh In/The Bob Newhart Show), Michelle Lee (Knotts Landing), Carol Connors (Oscar, Grammy, Emmy, Golden Globe nominated songwriter), Bruce Vilanch (Award winning Award Show writer) and many others.

The Jose` Iturbi Foundation’s motto is Popularizing classic music – one note at a time!®. “And that’s just what the foundation does!,” says Donelle Dadigan, President and Founder of Jose` Iturbi Foundation (JIF) adding “It is a great honor for the Jose` Iturbi Foundation to have sponsored “Rachmaninoff Under The Stars” concert at the Hollywood Bowl.” The evening included a very special performance of Piano Concerto No.2 in C minor, Op.18 that was performed by Jose` Iturbi and Amparo Iturbi , to a Sold-Out Crowd at the Hollywood Bowl more than 75 years ago in 1948.
The Jose` Iturbi Foundation’s mission is to popularize classical music to all generations, especially young people – one note at a time. “The Foundation enjoys presenting Blockbuster concerts with international superstars of classical music, and forums for “young artists in the making” to audiences around the world including at-risk children and underserved communities,” said Donelle Dadigan
The Jose` Iturbi Foundation in 2023 celebrated with the Sony Classical 16 CD Set and book: “From Hollywood To The World The Rediscovered Recordings by Pianist & Conductor Jose`Iturbi.” Produced by Donelle Dadigan and Michael Feinstein and Sony Classical, this special project was up for Grammy Nomination consideration in the following Categories: Best Historical Album, Best Album Notes, Recording Package, Box/Special/Limited Edition Package.
Donelle Dadigan, President & Founder of the Jose` Iturbi Foundation 501(c) (3) said of the project, “José Iturbi was one of the greatest concert pianists and conductors of the 20th century.” The proof is contained in this special collection of the complete RCA Victor recordings made by José himself and by his sister, the concert pianist Amparo Iturbi. It is an important contribution toward the preservation and restoration of their original masters, bringing them to listeners worldwide, both now and for generations to come.
