The stars are aligning for an epic night of celebration during the 50th Anniversary of TIFF 2025 at the Tribute Awards happening September 7 at the Fairmont Royal York. This year’s lineup is packed with legends, rising icons, and trailblazers — and we’ve got the scoop on who’s being celebrated.

Leading the charge are Hollywood’s famed Catherine O’Hara and Channing Tatum. O’Hara, the comedic queen behind *Schitt’s Creek* and a staple in classics like *Home Alone* and *Beetlejuice*, is set to receive the prestigious Norman Jewison Career Achievement Award . Her fearless talent and Canadian charm have made her a pop culture icon. Channing Tatum, known for his versatile roles in *Magic Mike*, *Foxcatcher*, and *21 Jump Street*, will take home the Tribute Performer Award, showcasing his range from action to drama — and maybe a few dance moves!

Joining them are a stellar cast of honorees making waves across the globe. Idris Elba, the charismatic actor and activist, will be honored with the Impact Media Award for his powerful work in *Mandela* and *Luther*. German star Nina Hoss, celebrated for her intense performances in *Phoenix* and *Tár*, is receiving the Tribute Performer Award. Kazu Hiro, the master prosthetic artist behind *Darkest Hour* and *Bombshell*, earns the Variety Artisan Award, while Iran’s Jafar Panahi, whose films like *Taxi* and *Offside* have challenged censorship and spotlighted social issues, will be recognized with a Special Tribute. Inuit filmmaker Zacharias Kunuk, the visionary behind *Atanarjuat*, will also be celebrated for his groundbreaking storytelling.

And let’s not forget the previously announced giants — Jodie Foster, Guillermo del Toro, Lee Byung Hun, and more — each bringing their own legendary touch to the night.

Sponsored by Rolex and supported by RBC, Don Julio, and the Fairmont Royal York, this star-studded gala isn’t just about celebration — it’s a major fundraiser for TIFF’s future, fueling talent development and community impact.
