Fresh off announcing her new EP My Type (out July 11) and releasing bold title track “My Type” — (UNDER EMBARGO UNTIL FRI, MAY 30TH – PRIVATE LISTENING LINK HERE) — queer artist Kalie Shorr (she/her) will perform at Outloud Fest this Saturday, May 31 at 4:05 PM, backed by an all-female band and wearing a custom Shania Twain-inspired look by queer designer Maranda Nichols Persico.
Kalie will debut unreleased tracks alongside songs from the EP, offering a preview of her next chapter — one defined by fearless queerness, gritty alt-rock, and personal reckoning.
Check out what she has to offer with her live performances:
KTLA’s “Road To Pride” (Acoustic)
“Love Child” for Holler Live Sessions (Acoustic)
“Nothin’ New” for Taste Of Country (Acoustic)
“Too Much To Say” (Acoustic)
“My Voice” for Yoop Livestream (Full Band)
“Alice In Wonderland” Live in Nashville @ 3rd & Lindsley (Full Band)
Produced by John Samuel (Grace VanderWaal, Leona Lewis), “My Type” marks Kalie’s first original release embracing her queerness. Written in 2017 and initially shelved due to industry pressure, Kalie reclaimed the song post-coming out, restoring its original pronouns and teasing it during Pride 2023. Her forthcoming EP channels marks a powerful return for Kalie after a three-year hiatus and channels early-2000s alt-rock energy — think Avril, Alanis, Liz Phair — and pairs biting self-awareness with shout-along hooks. It’s an unfiltered dive into Kalie’s romantic patterns, emotional reflexes, and refusal to grow up quietly. For fans of Olivia Rodrigo, Chappell Roan, and anyone who craves catharsis at full volume.
