Los Angeles, CA (The Hollywood Times) 3/27/25 – Last night, GLAAD hosted its 4th Annual #GLAADHonors event at The Fonda Theater in Los Angeles, honoring the contributions of LGBTQ Black and Brown trailblazers in entertainment, journalism, and advocacy. This star-studded event took place just days before the 36th Annual GLAAD Media Awards, set to stream on Hulu on April 12, 2025.

The evening was emceed by Scott Evans, co-anchor of Access Hollywood, alongside Shar Jossell, a journalist and award-winning writer. The two guided the celebration, which included a toast provided by Hornitos Tequila.

Live performances electrified the crowd, with musical sets by Jessica Betts, JeRonelle, and a drag performance by the dazzling Luxx Noir London, all presented by Hyundai Motor America.

GLAAD’s President & CEO Sarah Kate Ellis delivered a powerful keynote address, while DaShawn Usher, Senior Director of GLAAD’s Communities of Color, and Julian Walker, Associate Director of the same department, also took the stage to acknowledge and uplift the LGBTQ Black & Brown creators, journalists, and leaders in attendance.

Notable guests included celebrities and changemakers such as Zerina Akers, Nicco Annan, Golden Brooks, Bryan Terrell Clark, Wilson Cruz, Ts Madison, Amber Riley, Brian Michael Smith, and many others. The beats were kept lively by DJ Dar Jar, ensuring the energy remained high throughout the event.

#GLAADHonors was brought to life by the GLAAD Communities of Color & Media departments, part of the GLAAD Media Institute. The event was made possible thanks to the generous support of Hyundai Motor America, Gilead Sciences, Inc., and Hornitos Tequila, with Delta Air Lines serving as the Official Sponsor. ABOUT THE 36TH GLAAD MEDIA AWARDS:
Cynthia Erivo will be presented with the prestigious Stephen F. Kolzak Award at the upcoming 36th Annual GLAAD Media Awards, in recognition of her impactful work in amplifying the visibility and acceptance of LGBTQ+ individuals.
