HOLLYWOOD — As the Los Angeles community faces widespread and unprecedented adversity, The Academy of Magical Arts (AMA) and The Magic Castle®—which itself was recently endangered by the Hollywood Hills fire—are bringing a little bit of magic to the fire recovery effort and people impacted by this tragedy.

The AMA has been spearheading a fundraising effort to collect essentials and toiletries for people in need, asking the community to bring items to the club.  On Tuesday, Jan. 14, The Magic Castle will transform its parking lot into a haven of comfort and support, distributing deli sandwiches, chips and cookies to individuals and families facing challenges brought on by the fires. Strolling magicians will be on hand to bring a moment of joy to attendees.

People may select needed items at the event. To ensure that aid reaches those most in need, we are requesting that attendees bring formal ID to identify zip codes in fire zones  Any items remaining following the event will be donated to The Red Cross.

Said, Hervé Levy, General Manager of The Magic Castle, “The Magic Castle has been a part of the L.A. community for 62 years.  We want to support our neighbors and people across Los Angeles who have been most severely impacted by this unprecedented tragedy … and bring a little magic into their lives for even a few moments. The magic community and other people have reacted quickly and generously to this effort and we look forward to welcoming people in need to our event.”
