The story centers around a young boy named Noah, whose unsettling yet intertwined connections draw psychiatrist Dr. Eli Adler, portrayed by Billy Crystal, into a web of intrigue and psychological tension. As the series unfolds, it delves into a spiraling, dissociative journey that challenges perceptions and keeps audiences on edge.

“Before” excels in its use of dark color contrasts, effectively mirroring the tumultuous exchange between Dr. Adler and Noah. This visual strategy enhances the emotional weight of their interactions, making viewers feel as if they are experiencing the characters’ energy and trauma firsthand.

In Apple TV+’s “Before,” protagonist Eli (Billy Crystal) tells his therapist that his life has “turned into a Dali painting.”

The casting of the series is particularly noteworthy, with performances that evoke both empathy and unease. This choice of talent adds depth to the narrative, inviting audiences to question their own interpretations and expectations of horror. The series cleverly subverts common tropes, leaving viewers pondering their initial judgments.

“Before” invites audiences to explore a realm of horror that challenges conventional boundaries, leading to an experience that is both thought-provoking and unsettling. With its release just around the corner, this series promises to take viewers to places they may have never imagined possible in the world of psychological thrillers.
