Whitaker Dog and Whitaker Dog Training

In addition to being a fantastic place to board your pup, Whitaker Dog has now added dog training to their pickup/drop off daycare services.

“Dogs have social needs, just like humans,” noted Ethan Whitaker, Founder and CEO of Whitaker Dog. “They need health, wellness, fitness, and community. It’s so important that they have a great life.”

He continued: “We have always been a leader of socialization training in the greater Los Angeles area and have a large list of trainers that recommend us as their ongoing care specialists.”

Ethan sees his facilities as a one stop shop–”an ecosystem where all things dogs are executed with high standards. Whitaker Dog Training is the newest part of that ecosystem, where we transform dogs daily.”

If you are interested in dog training, the first step in the process is to set up a free in-home training needs assessment.

“This is where we will interview you and your dog,” he noted. “We will determine whether in-home training or boarding while training would be the best solution. We can do the heavy lifting, or we can train you how to work with your dog. In the end, it all depends on who the person is and whether or not they have the time and discipline to re-engineer their dog’s habits.”

From general obedience to advanced off-leash control, Whitaker Dog can assist whatever issues your dog is experiencing; everything from impulsive or aggressive behavior to crate training and over excitement.

Ethan already has had many success stories training dogs.

“We have been responsible for the rehabilitation of many dogs, including a 100-pound basset hound named Sherlock. When he came to us, Sherlock immediately went to attack me. He was a rescue and had previously been abused. He had no confidence and no successful experiences with other dogs.”

Ethan had faith that Sherlock could have a turnaround.

“Over the six months of knowing Sherlock, he was transformed from a dog with a bite history to a trusted companion,” he enthused. “With our help, the awesome dog dreams the owners hoped to have with their dog became possible. Instead of Sherlock biting and attacking people, they can take Sherlock anywhere — restaurants, cafes and vacations!”

Ethan acknowledged that it has been “so rewarding” being able to take dogs that other facilities would deny and transform them into perfectly confident, social canines.

Founded in 2018, Whitaker Dog Day Camp now services Burbank, Studio City, Hollywood Hills, Los Feliz, Silverlake, Atwater Village, Highland Park, Eagle Rock, Pasadena, Glendale, and Lincoln Heights, and offers a convenient, flexible “pick up and drop off” amenity directly from residences.

“Whitaker Dog and Whitaker Dog Training will continue to grow and continue to spread facilities and high-quality dog services across the greater Los Angeles area. Our next two facilities will be in the West San Fernando Valley and Culver City area.”
