SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. ‒ Barrett-Jackson, The World’s Greatest Collector Car Auctions, is gearing up for an unforgettable 2024 Scottsdale Fall Auction featuring an eclectic docket headlined by Rock ’n’ Roll megastar Sammy Hagar’s one-of-one 2015 LaFerrari. Barrett-Jackson will hold a second auction in Scottsdale this year. The 2024 Scottsdale Fall Auction, presented by Gila River Resorts & Casinos, will be held Oct. 10-13, 2024, at WestWorld of Scottsdale. Hagar’s Ferrari will cross the Barrett-Jackson auction block on Saturday, Oct. 12.
Originally slated to be auctioned during this year’s Barrett-Jackson January Scottsdale Auction, it was determined that the car’s original high voltage battery was nearing the end of its anticipated 8-year lifespan. The supercar was held back to install a new battery, which was performed by Ferrari of San Francisco. Watch the video with Sammy Hagar discussing the new battery installation here.
“The decision to hold Sammy’s LaFerrari for our Fall Auction in Scottsdale was the right one, and ensures it’s a truly immaculate supercar for the next owner,” said Craig Jackson, chairman and CEO of Barrett-Jackson. “Sammy is one of the most celebrated rock stars of our generation and isn’t letting off the gas. In April he was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and he just kicked off ‘The Best of All Worlds Tour.’ His LaFerrari is an extension of his ‘go fast lifestyle,’ and we’re honored to make it the centerpiece of our second Scottsdale auction this year. It’s truly an epic way to close out 2024.”
The Ferrari LaFerrari, also known simply as “LaFerrari,” was introduced in 2013 as the Italian automaker’s definitive model. It was an instant sensation, blending breathtaking aesthetics with cutting-edge technology and jaw-dropping performance. With its hybrid powertrain and Formula-1-inspired features, the LaFerrari quickly earned its place among the most sought-after vehicles in the world.
Notably, Ferrari produced only 499 LaFerraris, with 200 of these distinguished vehicles designated as Aperta models, which feature a removable roof. (An additional coupe was later built by Ferrari for a charitable sale after a devastating earthquake in Italy.) Each LaFerrari is a highly coveted collectible; however, this Ferrari comes with the prestige of being owned and designed by a rock legend.
With custom finishes chosen and designed by Hagar, this LaFerrari features an elegant cream exterior, matching the color of a 1960s Ferrari that Hagar saw pictured on the wall at the Maranello factory during his visit in 2014. It is further enhanced by carbon-fiber and black accents that contribute to its visual appeal, capturing the essence of the Italian automotive artistry.
Included with the sale of this LaFerrari is a special replica model of the vehicle Hagar received as a gift from Ferrari, in addition to a book of the build process and a display plaque signed by Hagar from when the vehicle was displayed during Monterey Car Week at the Quail.
“I’m so excited that my LaFerrari, the most beautiful one on the planet, is headed back to Scottsdale this fall,” said Hagar. “This car has a new high-voltage battery straight from the factory, so it’s even better than the original. It’s going to be an extra-rocking time because it’s crossing the block on Oct. 12, the day before my birthday. In fact, the winning bidder had better bring a passport, because I’m taking you to Cabo to help celebrate my birthday on October 13. This is going to be a wild ride and I can’t wait to see everyone there.”
