Texas-based singer-songwriter Carrington MacDuffie has announced the release of her new indie-rock single, Rebel In The House Of Love, on Pointy Head Records. This rousing anthem to freedom by a daughter of the Revolution features heavy metal riffs paired with a distinct and textured vocal up front, making for another undeniably cool hybrid from Carrington’s active musical imagination.
Co-produced in Rochester, New York, with engineer Sam Polizzi (RCA, Atlantic, Nettwerk, Sony etc) and five-star musician/composer Johnny Cummings, this song is not for the faint of heart. Riffing on the madness of the past few years, the lyric emerges in a fast-running stream from a sharp mind and an uncompromisingly fierce independent spirit, American style. The passion of all three artists comes through in the explosively hooky drum loop, the growling vocal, the grinding skittering guitar.
“I’m often referred to as a free spirit,” Carrington says, “and that’s accurate, but it’s not all floating fairy music. There are times when a true free spirit holds her ground and does not yield.”
Thrilling new music from a veteran songwriter whose work always sounds fresh — available in both stereo and Atmos. Hang in there and don’t blink.
