Rob Mayes accompanied by Lauren Mascitti, former American Idol contestant, have brought their two stellar voices together in a marriage. The wedding vows, being that of Rob’s newly released song (May 19, 2023), Without you.
Of course, like many of Rob Mayes’ songs, Without You is exceptional. This new song is smooth and seamless. Full of emotion. While listening, I could actually feel the push-pull of two hearts. A great mix of instrumentals and lyrics, without doubt, Lauren’s and Mayes’ vocals complement each other’s. To put it simply even though there is nothing simple about the song: It’s one for your iTunes’ playlist.
Without You is one of two songs Mayes wrote with Will Weatherly, Heath Warren, and Eric Van Houten for his new movie, Just Jake, written by Jaimie Engle and Taylor Bird and directed by Brandon Clark.
The movie was filmed in Castle Rock, Colorado — a rising promising country singer, Rob Mayes’ character, Jake Collins, after his record label decides not to pick up his option, travels back to his hometown. While also dealing with a deep plunge into writer’s block, in Collins search to find new inspiration, he serendipitously reunites with his high school sweetheart, Amber, played by Brittany Bristow. Find out, if at all, Jake really reconnects with Amber and where and if the country singer finds the inspiration he desperately needs. And definitely check out the song, Without You.
This new romantic drama’s premiere is scheduled for release on UpTV Faith & Family Network and Super Channel Heart & Home, on Sunday, May 21.
